Palm Street Pier Restaurant and Bar in Soutd Padre Island

Lobo Del Mar is a great family owned business. Our family has owned a condo on SPI for many years and have seen the owners grow their business! From my understanding, the owners came to SPI from California and purchased the old Palm Street Bar & Grill (which was a local dive bar) and made MANY improvements. Lobo Del Mar overlooks the Laguna Madre Bay, has a pier for boats, has great food, awesome customer service and entertainment on most evenings. The vibe and atmosphere is amazing, live music and a lively crowd. They even have bagpipes! You sit down and just feel at home. The view of the bay is amazing, and the sunsets are to die for. The food was excellent, I recommend the scampi. My only complaint is the wait service, our server Michael. Sitting at a table with multiple people, he often came over and took one order and would wander off. This would leave the rest of the table sitting and waiting to order. With two and half hours spent here, we got attention twice.Looking past our service, this is a place I can definitely recommend for groups/couples/families to come visit and enjoy. You're in for a treat!

This bar/cafe is located directly on the bay with indoor and outdoor seating that extends into the water on a wooden pier. When we arrived on Saturday night, a live band was playing and a lively group of people filled the dance floor. As for the food, everyone in my party really enjoyed it. I ordered the coconut shrimp which came with a side of veggies and toast. Needless to say, it was delicious. If you plan to spend an evening there, you should make a reservation for the best tables.

Had a blast on the jet skis two days in a row here! Couldn’t get parrots eye on the phone at all (as usual) and the other place we went had some grumpy guy running the place. The people were really nice and made the experience very fun! Good price and will definitely be coming back next year to celebrate my birthday with them!

Bart and Jose were phenomenal! They were on time, professional and very friendly. They also reassured some of our more reluctant party members about parasailing. Would definitely book with them again!

Such a fun experience! The captain and his assistant were fun and made the trip exciting and had us all laughing. Some of the passengers were nervous and they helped calm them and let them know it was safe and fun. Very nice trip but the water is dark so you can't see anything in the water.

Great restaurant in South Padre Island! We enjoyed live music, beautiful sunset and great food and drink. We will definitely be back to try breakfast and lunch menu items as well. I had shrimp sampler but forgot to take a pic before I ate the fried shrimp. It was all yummy. My husband got shrimp scampi over angel hair pasta, also yummy.

I wouldn't go there as a destination place for the food! But when you combine it for the entertainment and atmospheres (or just to go for a drink) .. Then 4 stars plus. We had a variety of foods in our group of 12 and most of it was fine.. Just not great. Make reservation for a Wednesday night when the Lobo del Mar family is the entertainment.. And find out when the bagpipes players are performing their procession at sunset inside the restaurant and on their outside deck, dock, and patio area.. It may be nightly - but not sure. All in all ; we'll go again.. Just won't plan the trip hoping the food would be the "main event".. Service was pretty decent too.. So go and make an evening of it!

This is a nice spot that is dog friendly. We ate on the patio and enjoyed a wonderful sunset view. The service was excellent as well. The food was good enough for the price, decent salad. I heard they have bagpipes at 7, unfortunately we weren't able to stay that long. The kids had a great time so that's always nice, it also helps that everyone was very friendly!

Awesome staff. Great drinks and wonderful live music. Highly recommended. The food is excellent, burgers, seafood, nachos, and lots of other stuff from the grill. Good family atmosphere and the staff are absolutely the best. This is how a business should be run. They understand how to take care of their customers.

Best place to be on the island at sunset. Great happy hour menu and friendly service positively add to the experience. I don't know if they do this every evening, but when we visited, exactly at sunset a bagpipe team marched in and played the US national anthem.

What a blast! I took my family parasailing last week and boy was it fun. We saw an ad at our hotel so decided to call and make a reservation! With this being our fist time I had a bunch of questions. The booking agent was very knowledgeable, patient, and sweet. She answered all of my questions so we were very comfortable with our choice. When we arrived to bar/restaurant we were greeted by friendly staff members who brought us to dock. The captain and his fellow crew member were so laid back and confident they helped make the entire experience very fun!

I've been twice today morning and dinner. Staff very friendly, family owned. Great breakfast and dinner so far with live music for dinner. Will definitely tell ALL my friends to visit for great food and music. The owner does play the bagpipes dedication for our TROOPS every sunset every day.

Great place and great service - especially for large families. Wtaer front dining , great drinks and friendly smiling service. Recommended for watersports rentals too! good time all around

Great food and great staff. One of my favorite places on the island. If you're a novice - try their fish tacos. Or their Coconut Shrimp. Even the simple things make Lobo Del Mar awesome. Like top notch blu cheese salad dressing on your dinner salad. It's amazing.

Rated only two stars because operators did not enforce mask policy, including customers and staff. Sign at entry clearly states mask required, but when we entered, desk operator had no mask and then a family of four entered with zero masks. Nothing said. I should have spoken up but I didn't since I was counting on operators to do the right thing. On the boat, captain wore mask all the time, the main helper wore his half the time, and the family of four had no masks. It's a small boat that seats 6 comfortably, but proper social distancing is just not possible with 6 passengers and 2 crew. The parasailing itself was fine and was a safe experience. Lasted 10 minutes. We started on time and got back early since there were only 3 parasailing participants on our excursion.If you are concerned about COVID, I recommend you find a parasailing operator that is safer with a bigger boat OR will enforce a mask policy to keep everyone safe.

Best place to go. Excellent food, staff and entertainment. To top the night the views are unforgettable. Breakfast lunch dinner are served

Very friendly staff and informative. Fun fun. Be ready to be sore if your riding the banana boat but it was really fun. Great family that runs the business.

Some of my favorite food on South Padre, the staff and family are friendly and welcoming. Always make yourself at home and enjoy the live music and bag pipes at sundown. You won't regret paying this treasure a visit.

My wife and I wanted to get out of the house to celebrate our anniversary (and to forget about COVID for a while), so we booked their “private sunset cruise”. It turned out to be just what we needed. Brady, our boat Captain, was friendly, polite, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable. Not only did he know a lot about the area, but he knew all the right places to see the wildlife (like dolphins)! The restaurant was great too between the plentiful portions and tastiness of the food and drinks. We would happily go back again! 5/5!The only hiccup was with TripAdvisor. When we tried to boon through them they said the excursion was booked through the week. When we called SPI directly, we were able to book our trip without issue.

We were impressed with food, service and entertainment. A class reunion was being held so i am sure they provided part of the entertainment which included bagpipes and a band. It was a great evening for us. Our food was awesome!

I could never rave enough about this place. It was our first time to parasail and they were thorough in their instructions and very professional! We felt very safe and had an amazing experience! We can't wait to go back! Also had breakfast following at the Cafe that adjoins and is owned by the same family. Wonderful food and service!

We had a lovely time jet skiing. The family that owns this place is amazing. We pray that the business will flourish!
